Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace

The Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in the workplace is a qualification intended for candidates working in any environment and those who are returning or starting work for the first time.

Persons gaining this qualification will know that Health and Safety is the responsibility of everyone within a business, including contractors, visitors and suppliers. Syllabus areas are regarded by the Health and Safety Executives as being important to maintaining safe working procedures in the workplace.

This is a single unit qualification, assessed by a 15 question multiple-choice examination.

Successful candidates must achieve a score of at least 10 out of 15. The examination paper is set and marked by HABC. The duration of the examination is 30 minutes.
